The Sundance Film Festival was founded in 1978 and since then has been an event that is annually held in January, in Utah. This film festival holds the title of being the oldest film festival in the world since it was founded in 1932. It’s highly anticipated by many each year as it is of the most prestigious film festivals in the world. Best film awards tend to be awarded in this festival and these awards include Golden Lion, Silver Lion, Lion of the Future, Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory to the Filmmaker Award, etc. The 72nd Festival took place from 2 to 12 September 2015. The festival was screening more than 150 films each year and boasted an average annual attendance of more than 50,000 film professionals and cinephiles.

Berlin International Film Festival is a member of “Big Three”, alongside Cannes and Venice. Based on actual attendance rates, it also holds the record of the being the largest publicly attended film festival in the whole world. The festival happens every year from February 5th to 15th. The Berlin International Film Festival is also known as the Berlinale. Around twenty films compete for the awards called the Golden and Silver Bears.

Unlike other film festivals, attendance for the Cannes festival is by invitation only but tickets are made available to people who live in the town. It is known for being studded with the rich and famous. The Cannes International Film Festival is the most publicized film festival in the world. It was founded in 1946, although it was abandoned in 1948 and 1950 due to budget problems it has been up and running after that.
