Everybody couple appreciates a lovely wedding gift on their wedding day. However sometimes finding the appropriate wedding gift at a reasonable price can be a little hard. Which is why we have come up with these simple tips that will guide you towards getting the right gift/s for a wedding.
#1. Search the registry
If the couple mas made a list of the gifts they want, then you can just pick one that works for you. Although getting a gift from the registry is not compulsory, it could serve as a great tool when you don’t know what to get for the couple. Even if you don’t get what exactly is on the registry, you will have an idea on what the couple might need.
#2. Get something that will last
While it is not wrong to give the couple food items or cash gifts it’s always nicer to give the couple something they can always look back on. Unless it’s a whole lot of money, or other perishable item they have never had before, after a while they may not even remember what you gave them. So when thinking of gifts, thinks about small assets that give value for an extended period of time, such as furniture, electronics, cutlery etc.
#2. Include the receipt
There is a possibility that other people might have bought the same gift you bought. In that case the receipt allows them to return it or exchange it. Be sure to confirm with the store about their return policy.
#3. Get something valuable
No one will appreciate a gift that has no value to them. This is why it is advised to always get something new. This is not to say that you can’t give something you already own, but unless you are confident that the couple will like it, it is not over used or you are severely financially strained, stick to getting something new.
#4. Group gift
You can also consider asking friends, colleagues or family members who are also invited to the wedding to consider pooling money to get a gift. It allows you to buy an item that the couple will need but an individual can’t afford.
#5. Something they will like and appreciate
Take some time to ask yourself what the bride and groom might like. If you know them well enough then this should be easy. If you don’t know them well personally then you can ask for the opinions of people closer to them or stick with wedding gifts that are wider in range, such as small appliances, bottles of wine, or bedding.
Use your creativity to wrap wedding gifts as nicely as you can to make an added impression for the couple. You can have the wrapping done professionally (most gift stores offer to do this) or you can buy fancy wrapping paper and do it yourself, adding bows and ribbons as adornment.
Wedding gifts are an important part of the celebration. Most people will be faced with the question of how much to spend. My answer is, financial circumstances and relationships are different. Let your affection for the bride and groom and your budget be your guide.
