#1. Guest list

Decide if you are going to invite only couples or single people or if it is going to be open for all despite their relationship status. The amount of people you invite will probably depend on the size of your venue, how big your budget is and how many friends you have. Remember to make your guest list as fair as possible. For example, it will not be fair to invite a room full of married people and only one single person. Also to make it is more fun, you can have a mixed guest list. This means that all your guests don’t necessarily have to be your colleagues from work or just family, it can be a mixture of both and more. This can make it very exciting as people get to meet new people.

#2. Invitation

Once the guest list has been completed, the invitations should be sent out. This should be done as early as two weeks to give people enough time to clear their schedule. The invitation needs to look as enticing as possible so as to build up the excitement in people. You can choose to buy fancy ones to save time or make beautiful personalized ones. Remember to include all the relevant details such as the time date, venue, dress code, theme if applicable, etc.

#3. Menu

The time of the party has a great effect on the menu. If it’s going to be a dinner you can have the starter, main meal and dessert. You can also add cocktails to it. The traditional color for Valentine’s Day is red so even the food should match it. Serve pink or red food. Options include cupcakes with red or pink icing, red fruits, red and pink candies, etc. try to even include some red drinks as well like punch and red wine.

#4. Activities

After the arrival of guests, the activities are what keeps the party going. First of all, there must be music for your guest to dance and listen to. Also plan some interesting games that everyone can participate in and even win prizes. There are so many fun TV and board games that you can use. Additionally, you could organize the all-too-familiar and always entertaining “Truth Or Dare” in which each couple will have to select one option from truth or dare and they will be asked questions from other couples or given a task to complete, (just in case you dint have a childhood like Michael Jackson). You can also prepare a list of papers in a box with some questions written on it and each couple will have to describe what is asked from them by the paper. This way, you can make your friends share their love story with everyone.

#5. Decoration

It is essential to use the right props to set the mood and the ambiance of the party. For decorations, some roses will always work as they are the universal symbol of love. You can also use lightening, ribbons and red balloons. You could make your decoration more attractive by preparing banners with love quotes written on them and you can place them on the wall around your party venue.

Since many people already plan to spend the day with their partners, it will be a good idea to plan the party before or after Valentine’s day itself.
