#1. Al Hayer Forest
This camping site has plenty of sandbanks for one to drive on if you own a 4×4 of course. It has a captivating landscape of Ghaf trees, which provides a relaxing shade. The Ghaf trees are part of Dubai’s tradition, do your best to help preserve it by not cutting it down or using it for firewood. Located just off the Dubai-Al-Ain highway, Al Hayer Forest is a great vicinity to go camping but beware of scorpions!
#2. Liwa Oasis
Grab your backpack and head down to the well known Rub Al Khali or the Empty Quarter, located there is the Liwa Oasis. It offers serene landscapes as you experience the historical legacy of the UAE. It advised not to attempt to hike the 300m sand dunes, unless you are an expert. The empty quarter has a vast area of space that one can get lost in, be sure to stay close to the outskirts of the Liwa Oasis.
#3. Wadi Sana
Although it might be a challenge to get to the site due to rocky roads, the landscape from the top of the Plateau is mind blowing and recommended for mountain bikers who are interested in exploring the place with their bikes.
#4. Umm Al Quwain
Just about a 45 min drive away from Dubai, Al Quwain offers you the realistic laid back camping experience you desire. It is also close to the beach, you can go fishing or for a quick swim. Take note of the heavy tides at night, confirm that your tents are a safe distance away from the shore for safety purposes.
#5. Al Dhafra Beach
If you happen to be a fan of diving, kayaking or snorkelling, this is the best camping site to go and make the best use of your swimming gear. No matter the type of camper you are, the camping location will satisfy your preferences. The amazing scenery will keep you captivated, along with the flamingos or turtles, if you find yourself lucky to come across any.
#6. Lahbab Desert
If you are a novice and new to this ‘camping’ thing, Lahbab is the ideal site to go camping, it’s soft sands makes it a great location to set up camping tents. The distance from Dubai and Lahbab makes it easier to access the town for novices who are new to the camping experience or the territory when travelling with younger ones.
