Every mother is special in her own way and deserves to be honored every single day. Mother’s Day is a day to take a time out for your mother and show her the lots of love she deserves. Now, there are different ways to do this but throwing a party for your mother is surely one of the best ways of making sure mommy has a mother’s day to remember. Here are some tips on how to organize a Mother’s day party.
#1. Invitation
Before you do anything, decide on how many people you can accommodate and how you’re going to invite them. Make a list of all relatives and her close friends that she is comfortable with to come celebrate the day with her. Make it clear on the invitation cards the time you need guests to arrive, the venue and the date. If it’s a casual event you can just call your invitees or send emails. Otherwise you buy invitation cards or better still make personalized ones and send to all your guests.
#2. Decoration
When decorating the venue, it should always be in line with what your mum loves. If your mum likes flowers, decorate the venue with flowers of her choice. If she likes pictures, display different beautiful pictures of her and the family all over the venue. At the entrance of the venue, you could display a lovely banner saying, “We Love You Mom”, or “Happy Mother’s Day”. You can also use heart shaped balloons to add to the decorations.
#3. Menu
Food is a must in every party. The menu also depends on the style of the party. For instance if it is a formal party, then the usual three course meal will be fine. If it’s going to be informal, then simple homemade dishes can be served. Also make sure that your mum’s favorite is served. You can always add fruits, vegetables, pastries etc. Don’t forget to order a special cake of her favorite flavor.
#4. Entertainment
Entertainment the most important part of the day. Start by playing all the songs that your mum can break a groove to. There are various songs you can find composed for mothers. You can also celebrate her by playing various games that your mother enjoys. For example you can try chess, snake and ladder, cards or if she is more of an active person you could try tennis, golf etc.
Moreover, you can set aside a session for question and answers. You can ask her questions about her most challenging times, her happiest moments and any other question that you have in mind. This session will help you know more about your mother.
Another very attractive part of a Mother’s Day party will be to show pictures of all the events of the past year you shared with your mum. It can be a small presentation of your photographs with your mom or a complete video. This will surely make her feel extremely happy and also say nice things about her.
#5. Gifts
Try getting your mum something beautiful that she will love and appreciate. It could be a new make-up set, some new pair of shoes or it could even be dinner with her husband (you’ve got to pay for it) or a day at the spa.
Throwing a party to celebrate your mother is a heart-felt way of showing your mum that you appreciate her. So plan something special for your mum and make her smile.
