Slumber parties are a great way to hang out and have fun with your friends. If you are thinking of organizing one, here are a few tips that could be very helpful to you.

#1. Permission

After coming up with the idea of the party the next thing you need to do is communicate it to your parents. The last thing you would want is to go ahead with the planning and your parents end up saying no. Don’t freak out if they don’t agree to it immediately. They might just need time to think about it. Try to put on your best behavior within that period to win their hearts.

#3. Date and time

When setting a date, you will need to consider if you want to hold it during the holidays which might not be the best idea because most of your friends may not be in town; or why not hold it during the school term?

Also, try to find out if there are any major activities during that period.

#3. Invitation

Again you will also need to consult your parents on how many people you are allowed to bring. After you have finalized on the friends you wish to invite, you can now proceed with the invitations. You can buy or make these. The invitations should be attractive as much as possible to attract your friends. Remember to send them early enough so that your friends can also get permission from their parents. If you need your friends to bring things like pillows, DVDs or PJs, you could add it all in the invitation.

#4. Meal

Remember that since it’s a sleepover party you will need to plan the menu for the evening and the following morning. For the evening, you could have the main meal with a lot of snacks and drinks. The morning breakfast could include cereal, pancakes etc. Remember to check the menu with your friends so as to confirm if they are allergic to any food or if they don’t like any. You could also ask them to bring some snacks from home.

#5. Activities

You can plan fun activities that will make your night exciting and memorable. If the girls are coming early, you could even start the evening by seeing a movie. Other activities could include board games, movies, scavenger hunts, crafts, makeovers, group video games etc. You could also ask your friends for suggestions. Avoid having everything on a schedule and just allow your friends to be free and have a great time.

#6. Sleeping arrangements

Make sure you have lots of blankets and pillows available as some will definitely forget to bring one. Also, before the guests arrive, create a designated storage spot for all of their belongings

#7. Have fun

The main point of having a slumber party is to have fun. Remember to take lots of pictures and a group photo; tell stories, jokes, etc. As the host, be nice and pleasant around guests and don’t act bossy or brag about your house

One great idea is to give your friends goodie bags when they are leaving. Include things that you know your friends will love, such as make up sets, scented erasers and small bottles of nail polish etc.
